No Honorary Degree from Jamia, But SRK Already Has Some, As Do These Celebs

Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) was a master’s student of JMI’s Mass Communication Research Centre.

Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, wanted to confer Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan with an honorary degree.

But, the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD) is reported to have declined a request from the university, saying that the actor has already received one from a different university.

It stated that although there are no fixed rules regarding awarding of such degrees multiple times, the practice is usually discouraged.

Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) was a master’s student of JMI’s Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), but could not appear for his final year exam due to shortage of attendance.

SRK was reported to have given his consent to the proposal of an honorary degree.
