Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize on Wednesday. The award committee honoured his efforts to accelerate economic growth of the country and the world through ‘Modinomics’.
The award committee credited #Modinomics for reducing social and economic disparity between the rich and the poor. It lauded PM @narendramodi's initiatives to make the govt cleaner through anti-corruption measures and #demonetization.

According to an MEA statement, the award committee also recognised his dedication to foster democracy’s development through anti-corruption policies and reducing social and economic disparity between the rich and the poor.
The committee stated that Modi’s anti-corruption measures and demonetisation had made the country ‘cleaner’.
The Committee also credited Prime Minister for his contribution towards regional and global peace through a proactive foreign policy with countries around the world under the ‘Modi Doctrine’ and the ‘Act East Policy.’
PM Modi accepted the award expressing his gratitude for the prestigious honour and India’s relations with the Republic of Korea. Prime Minister Modi is the fourteenth recipient of this award.
2018 Seoul Peace Prize
The committee awarded the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize to PM Narendra Modi after analysing over 1,300 nominations worldwide, calling him ‘the perfect candidate for the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize’.
Established in 1990, the Seoul Peace Prize celebrates the success of the 24th Olympic Games which were held in Seoul, Republic of Korea. 160 countries across the globe took part in the games.
The Seoul Peace Prize honours those individuals who have made contributions to create harmony, peace and reconciliation between nations and people.

Champion Of The Earth Award 2018
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honoured with the United Nations’ highest environmental honour for leading the International Solar Alliance with the pledge to eradicate the use of plastic in India by 2022.
The award was shared by French President Emmanuel Macron and PM Modi in the Policy Leadership category.
