Athletics has given India the most gold medals at the 2018 Games.

India have ended with a rich haul of 19 medals, including seven gold, in the 2018 Asian Games athletics events. This included two gold medals and two bronze medals on the last day of the track and field competitions at the Jakarta Palembang Games on Thursday.

Track And Field Gold Medals

This is the third time that India have won seven gold medals in Asian Games athletics. The last two times were at the 1978 Bangkok Games and the 2002 Busan Games.

It had won only two gold medals at the 2014 Incheon Games. India’s best performance in athletics had come in the inaugural 1951 Asian Games held in Delhi, where it won 10 gold medals.
